This is an app designed and tailored to first time women investors. Only 2 percent of banks are ran by women. When one looks at Fortune 500 companies there has been a growing trend of inclusivity. In 2002 only 7 of the companies were ran by women; today that number has jumped to 74. While this is a step in the right direction there is still a long way to go.
With this in mind I set out to design an app that has a good balance between friendliness and professionalism. I wanted the app to cheer the user on as they navigate the financial world as it can be intimidating to new investors.
The logo was designed to invoke simplicity and a little play. The leaf animation was inspired by the way plants unfurl and grow in nature.
Icons are some of my favorite things to design. With these icons I was able to add some subtle animations to add a little play. The back button was given a little flash inspired by the way coins flash in the sun.
